Change

I figured that now was a good time for an updated look. My life is in the process of a good change, and so, I've decided to let my blog reflect that . As I step into this next phase of my life I pray that I may " walk in a way worthy of the calling to which I (you) have been called...." (Eph. 4:1b - personalized...)

See ya'll

Friends are For Forever

Tomorrow night, our dear friend Lorah departs for sunny California. Lorah we love you so much! Here are a few of the memories that we will always have to cherish! Lorah, you and I have been close since 5th grade - but unfortunately, my family didn't own a digital camera "back then" :-) So, as far back as my digital camera can take us - these pictures are dedicated to you my friend!

Pray for Me
- Micheal W. Smith-

Here is where the road divides,
Here is where we realize,
The sculpting of the Father's great design,

Through time you've been a friend to me,
Though time is now the enemy,
I wish we didn't
have to say goodbye

But I know,

I know the road He chose for me,

Is not the road He chose for you,

So as we chase
the dreams we're after,
Won't you pray for me,
And I'll pray for you,
Pray that we would keep
the common ground,

Won't you pray for me,

And I'll pray for you,

And one day love will bring us back around again.

Painted on
our tapestry
We see the way
it has to be
Weaving thru

the laughter and the tears

But love will be the tie that binds,

To the time we leave behind us,
Memories will be our souvenirs

And I know that thru it all
The hardest part of love is letting go
But there's a greater love that holds us

Pray for me, and I'll pray for you
Pray that we will keep the common
ground

Won't you pray for me,
And I'll pray for you,
And some day love will bring us back around again

We'll miss you Lorah!!!! Have a wonderful term! Love you! And remember, I'll be praying for you!
** If you'd like to comment be prepared to scroll down..........ALOT. :P Me and my computer aren't getting along too well today. sorry about that.
**I didn't actually take all of these lovely photos. I must give credit to the those talented photographer friends of mine. Hannah, Steven, Dani, Stephane, Cole and mum. So basically, I didn't really take too many of these.
** so now, I am simply writing to take up space, so that you don't have to scroll down as much.

Summertime

So I was thinking that it's about time I updated. :-) Unfortunately, my week has been less than exciting, and so, I was having trouble coming up with a post. Lately, I've been, hmm, practicing
a lot of piano, (piano exam- August......bad idea Emily) , trying to play my clarinet again, ( Hannah and I tried playing our own pathetic version of "When I'm Sixty Four" - by the Beatles, on the cello and clarinet. O my. It was quite funny). Hmm. what else? Lots of cleaning ( you know, the type of cleaning that only gets done once a year.....:-), and more practising. LOL, o yes, and we spent a few hours earlier this week trying to put together our new Muskoka chairs for the backyard. Wretched things. I mean, could they have included any more screws??? I'll also be starting up teaching again in a week or so. ( I know you must be thinking that I am a mean teacher who makes my students take lessons through the summer - but I assure you........the kids wanted to!!!! Don't ask me why. I never use to take summer lessons) O yes. My brother came home on Monday. He's hilarious. But, those stories deserve a separate post. ;-)

However, today I creatively decided to post something about summertime. That's appropriate eh? What exactly does summer mean to me?

  • Cottage Days
  • Iced Cappuccinos
  • Long Summer Evenings
  • Bonfires
  • Tomato and Cucumber Salad - best salad EvEr!
  • Canada's Wonderland
  • Playing Soccer ( *sob* This is the first summer in 14 years that I haven't played....)
  • Reading, undisturbed for hours on the dock by the lake
  • Summer Concerts in Parry Sound ( right on the lake...gorgeousness)
  • Barbecues
  • Flip Flops
  • Day trips
  • Beaches
  • Boat rides
  • Ice cream
  • Summer breezes
  • Falling asleep to the sound of rain on the cottage roof
  • Bright Colours
  • Fireworks
  • Spending LOTS of time with friends and family (especially getting together with ppl I haven't seen all year!!!!!)
I could go on and on! But I figured I'd stop at 20. Here's to summer!!

A 'Loverly' Day in Stratford!

For my 19th (gasp) birthday, my mom and sister bought tickets to see King Lear
in Stratford! So, yesterday morning, we packed up and headed out to
spend the day shopping and touring downtown Stratford, before the show at 8pm. So fun!
Here are some fun pics that we snapped throughout the day!

nice reflection eh? oops! O well.

Ever since we got back from NA - I've been listening to my Starfield cd almost everyday when I'm in the car! (notice that I said the car and not my car..:-) ) This is one of my favourite songs.

UNASHAMED
I have not much To offer You
Not near what You deserve
But still I come
Because Your CROSS
Has placed in me my worth
Oh, Christ my King Of sympathy
Whose WOUNDS secure my peace
Your grace extends
To call me friend
Your mercy sets me free
And I know I'm weak
I know I'm unworthy
To call upon Your name
But because of GRACE
Because of Your mercy
I stand here unashamed
I can't explain
This kind of LOVE
I'm humbled and amazed
That You'd come down
From heavens heights
And greet me face to face
Here I am at Your feet
In my brokeness COMPLETE

NA

Could one possibly describe the experience of going to New Attitude 2007? It would take so much more than one paragraph ................

Well, it was fantabolous! (yes, i wrote that word on purpose...:-) ) First of all, the worship. Although singing a capella with 3000 other people is an experience in itself - I was never as much aware of those other people, or of myself, than I was aware of my sin, Christ's saving work on the cross, and God's GLORY!!!
The song, Surrender All, was one that really impacted me and convicted me as I sang it out to the Lord.

The messages were all sooo good. When I got home, I said to my mom - " ya, we can listen to messages by C.J. and Josh Harris on the Internet anytime - but being there and seeing the passion that those men have when speaking about the gospel is so poignant! It really challenged me to go to the foot of the cross daily, remembering that God crushed his Son for my sin.
The fellowship - well, what can I say? I pretty much have the coolest friends around. :-)Anyone for some poker?.....with UNO cards for chips? lol
But seriously, being with you guys and talking about what we were all learning about God, or what we learned from the messages, was a time of encouragement for me.
O- and I absolutely loved those sweet bean bag chair things in the neighbourhood!
Car ride home - one of my most memorable car rides yet! Bubble gum rox! And I will never consume aspartame again...
This post is dedicated to Papa John's. " the pizza that never comes.........." lol
Coming sooooooooon - pictures!! memories!! fun times!!
see ya'll
p.s. Grr. I have no idea what I did wrong - it won't format properly!!!!! sorry guys. Its kinda hard to read...............
